**Riots in Zurich **overnight 

Several hundred people, many masked or in Halloween costumes, gathered in Zurich's Langstrasse district on Saturday night after online calls for an unauthorized protest against war, rearmament, police and social inequality, citing the protests in France as their model.

Protesters set a car on fire, burned containers, e-bikes and scooters, and smashed windows at a tram stop and nearby shops. Police responded with water cannons, tear gas and rubber bullets, and were pelted with fireworks, bottles and stones. Things only calmed down around 1:30 AM.

Switzerland now joins the rest of Europe, with youth protests spreading from France to Germany, Albania and beyond. More demonstrations have already been announced.
