**Russia has patented a compact reusable UAV interceptor designed as a personal defense system against kamikaze drones.** The aircraft weighs up to 2 kg, has a folding frame for carrying with field gear, and a handle for hand launch. According to the [patent](https://www1.fips.ru/ofpstorage/Doc/IZPM/RUNWC1/000/000/002/868/556/%D0%98%D0%97-02868556-00001/document.pdf), it is intended to destroy or damage incoming drones at a safe distance from the operator.

The interceptor can be guided manually or automatically using onboard cameras and armed with different kinetic weapons. One proposed option is a 25-gram Osa-type round with 91 joules of energy, described as sufficient to break a plastic drone body from several meters. After exhausting its ammunition or battery, the interceptor is designed to return to the operator for reloading or recharging and reuse.
