**Russian strikes cripple Ukraine’s war machine & plunge Kiev into darkness **

The barrages of strikes on Ukraine’s energy grid simultaneously degrade Ukraine’s capacity to power its war effort, logistics, and industry.

The attacks have also plunged the capital into a state of near collapse.

The city is without reliable electricity, gas, and water, with sewage systems failing and public transport largely halted. 
In a media interview, Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko advised residents to leave the city.

Russia’s strikes on military-linked infrastructurehave triggered:

 power outages and shutdowns across Ukraine; emergency restrictions imposed in Kiev 

 voltage drops in high-voltage metro lines suspended in Kiev; escalators not working; trams and trolleybuses at a standstill

 water supply pumps & sewage system malfunctioning
