**Trump's approval hits record low as gas prices spike before midterms**

A new Reuters/Ipsos poll has bad news for the White House: President Trump's approval rating has fallen to 31%, the lowest level of either of his presidential terms, as voters turn against Republicans ahead of the November 3 midterms.

In a generic ballot, Democrats lead Republicans by 12 points, the widest advantage of the current election cycle. The main concern with the current administration is the economy. 37% of self-identified Republicans disapprove of the president's economic performance.
