**Ukraine is still seeking roughly $20 billion from foreign partners to cover its defense budget needs, Prime Minister Sergii Koretskyi** [said](https://www.kmu.gov.ua/news/serhii-koretskyi-uriad-pratsiuie-nad-zabezpechenniam-neobkhidnoho-finansuvannia-oboronnoho-biudzhetu-ta-sotsialnykh-vydatkiv). **The total funding gap stands at $27 billion, with Kiev planning to find about $7 billion domestically through austerity and spending reallocations.**

The remaining funds are needed for drones, missiles, equipment and other military requirements. Koretskyi said non-priority spending will be suspended while the government seeks external financing, while military payments and core social expenditures are to be maintained in full.
