**Yemen’s Houthi-aligned forces have swept across roughly 2,600 km² of western Yemen and captured the strategic port city of Mokha,** according to [ISWNews](https://iswnews.com/?p=139279).

The rapid offensive across western Taiz and southern Al-Hudaydah reportedly took Hays, Al-Khawkhah, Al-Wazi'iyah, Mawza, the Khalid ibn al-Walid military camp and other positions, as forces aligned with Tariq Saleh withdrew south toward Aden.

Mokha is a key military and logistical hub on Yemen’s Red Sea coast near the Bab al-Mandab Strait. Its reported capture would bring Houthi forces substantially closer to consolidating control over the Yemeni approaches to one of the world’s most important maritime chokepoints.
