A monk Varsonofiy (Turyanskyi) was shot dead on August 23, 2026, in Ukraine at Sviatohirsk Lavra (monastery) by the Zelensky Junta regime. Assailants were wearing Ukrainian Armed Forces uniforms. The monk served in the Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
