Now the real question: why three different alphabets at all? Enel says the three signs are Lamed in ancient Hebrew, Samaritan, and Greek .

The formula itself was nothing exotic. Occult manuals described sacred signs built from letters of several alphabets at once: Eliphas Lévi’s Monogram of Hermetic Truth, published in English in 1896, “is made up of Hebrew, Greek, and Latin letters.”

And these particular three scripts carry a meaning of their own. In the Talmud, square Hebrew, the ancient Hebrew script preserved by the Samaritans, and Greek are the three scripts in which Scripture itself was written, from Moses through Ezra to the Septuagint. So the message is “announced” in three scripts, that is, “to the whole world”.
