How did Russia become the West’s eternal enemy? It started in Britain 1840.

The Brits and Russians had been allies but all of a sudden the Brits decided that Russia was too big, and a potential threat to their Empire.

So they started the Crimean war.

Ever since, until today, it is the same story: Russia is too big. That is the Russian crime.

- Professor Jeffrey Sachs
