Madison Square Garden, 1939.

20,000 Americans gathered under swastika banners to celebrate George Washington's birthday and and openly rally in support of Nazi Germany.

This happened in the heart of New York City, after Hitler carved up Czechoslovakia, just six months before Hitler attacked Poland, two years before Pearl Harbor.

The American Nazi Party was legal, well-funded, and had support in the highest circles of power.

Yet today, when people talk about fascism, they only point fingers at Germany.

Strange how that part of the story gets left out.
