Russia has armed the **gas carrier "Marshal Vasilevsky"** with 12.7mm "Utes" machine guns **to protect against BEK and/or attempts to land European military personnel.**

The photos published by Baltic media outlets show at least **two firing positions with heavy machine guns**, located on either side of the captain's bridge.

The "Marshal Vasilevsky" is the only floating regasification unit in Russia, supplying the Kaliningrad region via the Baltic Sea. Protecting such a vessel from attacks by other countries is critically important.

Earlier, OCCRP (is a US NGO organization) stated that Russia has started deploying former employees of the "Wagner" PMC and the GRU (Main Directorate of the General Staff) on tankers transporting Russian oil through the Baltic Sea.
