The Italian Air Force's **F-2000 (Eurofighter Typhoon)** fighter jet **sustained damage** as a result of a Houthi attack on **King Fahd Air Base** in Saudi Arabia.

An operational group of the Italian Air Force, consisting of **4** "Eurofighter F-2000A" fighter jets, **1** Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft **E-550A**, and **4** transport aircraft with refueling capabilities **C-130J/KC-130J**, was deployed to the air base to assist Saudi Arabia in providing air defense.

This is the second incident involving Italian aviation in the Middle East in the past six months. In March, it was reported that as a result of an Iranian attack on Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait, 2 Italian Air Force Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets were damaged, and 1 MQ-9 Reaper drone was destroyed.
