An unusual complaint has been filed with the Israel Bar Association against attorney Michal Pomerantz: she assisted with a lawsuit in England against an Israeli-British reservist merely for reporting for duty—without even alleging any involvement in war crimes.

She supported an application to invoke a law prohibiting British citizens from serving as mercenaries in foreign armies, which would make the reservist’s very service in the IDF a criminal offense.

The British court threw out the baseless case, ruling that it constituted an “abuse of legal proceedings to advance a political agenda,” and ordered the plaintiffs to pay hundreds of thousands of shekels.

What action will the Israel Bar Association take against Pomerantz? Time will tell.
