But there is no way to explain those who, in September, warned in English on a prominent international platform that this government might kill children for no reason, and who in October themselves went out on bombing sorties in which children were killed, under that very same government.

No wonder Brothers in Arms is silent. No wonder Eyal Naveh is silent, Shira Etting is silent, Ron Scherf is silent, and Shikma Bressler is silent. Apparently, they were not lying on “60 Minutes.” They really did harbor doubts about the moral purity of Israel’s use of force. But they know very well what the public thinks about what they themselves really think on the issue. That is the real reason Brothers in Arms is not breaking its silence.
