The day after Simchat Torah, Michael was supposed to open the optical store he had established. Then the war broke out. Michael was called up for reserve duty, the store never opened, but the loans and expenses kept piling up and growing. Along with them came mounting pressure and an emotional whirlwind that hasn’t stopped.

We tried with all our strength to save the business. We explored every possible option, but in the end it simply collapsed before our eyes, leaving us, parents of six young children, with overwhelming debts that could follow us for the rest of our lives.
