IDF Spokesperson:

*The IDF eliminated the terrorist involved in the clash in which Captain David Hazut z”l fell during the night*

During the night (Sunday), fighters from the Golani Brigade’s combat team encountered a Hezbollah terrorist after entering to locate a suspect in the Deir Sirian area of southern Lebanon.  
As a result of the encounter, Captain David Hazut z”l was killed and another soldier was lightly injured.

Following extensive searches by IDF forces in the area, the terrorist was located in one of the buildings near the encounter site and was eliminated by the forces.

The IDF will continue to act to remove any threat to its forces and will not allow the Hezbollah terrorist organization to harm Israeli civilians or IDF troops.
