The advisory committee has just submitted to the Prime Minister its supplementary opinion regarding the appointment of Major General Roman Gofman as head of the Mossad.

A majority of the committee members determined in their opinion that there was no flaw in Major General Gofman’s integrity, and that their confidence in him had in fact been substantially and materially strengthened in light of the additional materials that were provided to them.

The Prime Minister completely rejects the minority opinion, which held that the matter should continue to be examined, stating that Major General Gofman has been subjected to an unnecessary ordeal and that the mountain did not even produce a mouse.

The Prime Minister expects the Supreme Court to reject the petitions and not to delay Major General Gofman’s assumption of the post immediately upon the conclusion of the incumbent Mossad director’s term, in the midst of a war on seven fronts. >
