Religious Zionism:

In recent weeks, Minister Smotrich has considered adding numerous figures to the Religious Zionism slate for the upcoming Knesset elections. However, he held off on making a decision in order to reserve spots for what he viewed as a necessary and responsible merger with Ofer Winter’s party.

Minister Smotrich believed that joining forces within the national camp was more important than the interests of his own party and strengthening it by adding new figures.

However, now that Winter appears to have made up his mind to run independently and, irresponsibly, gamble on the future of right-wing rule and the State of Israel, Smotrich will return to considering options for strengthening Religious Zionism through candidates personally reserved by the party chairman.
