The IDF issued a strongly worded statement against MK Zvi Sukkot:

- IDF forces designated for operational missions in the sector were diverted for this task and were unnecessarily put at risk.

- Contrary to what had been coordinated, the participants acted deceitfully and manipulatively, without authorization and in complete violation of the approved plan, and began demolishing one of the memorials in the village of Madama.

- Upon realizing what was happening, the troops contacted their commanders, who instructed them to stop the activity, and the individuals involved were removed from the village.
