Yitzhak Amit must start acting like a judge, not a politician.

When Ronen Bar resigned as head of the Shin Bet, Amit insisted on issuing a ruling.

Now he is trying to avoid issuing a ruling at all costs, so as not to set a precedent for applying Section 7A to supporters of terrorism as well, after decades of trampling on the law.

He should do the proper thing and issue a ruling.
