A warning from Washington to European governments targeting Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria:

Harmeet Dhillon, Assistant Attorney General for the U.S. Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, warned on October 6 that countries participating in boycotts against Israel could face retaliatory sanctions while President Trump remains in office.

Speaking to journalists, she singled out Britain, France and Norway and described the BDS movement as a form of antisemitism.

The warning follows September announcements by Britain, Canada and France of plans to restrict trade in goods from Israeli settlements. Britain also announced measures targeting those facilitating settlement expansion and advertising settlement properties.

No U.S. retaliatory sanctions package has been announced. But Dhillon’s remarks send a clear message: governments pursuing these measures could face consequences of their own.
