**Iranians Are Not Surviving the American Sanctions**

Due to the severe economic crisis in Iran, the asking price for a three-tier burial plot in Tehran’s Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery has soared to 30 billion rials – approximately $15,000. According to Iran International, that is equivalent to more than 15 years’ wages for an Iranian worker earning minimum wage.

Iran’s currency has lost half its value since before the war, with the exchange rate now reaching approximately 2 million rials to the U.S. dollar.

According to the report, Iranians are selling burial plots they had reserved for themselves to pay their debts or feed their children. Burial plots are being auctioned through court proceedings and private sales, while many families are being forced to bury their loved ones in remote villages where burial remains free.

It was further reported that senior Iranian officials are considering fleeing the country because of the dire economic situation.
