Israeli Foreign Minister Sa'ar has confirmed for the first time what had only been hinted at by Prime Minister Netanyahu:

Israel provided crucial intelligence to Britain regarding an Iranian plot to carry out an attack on the RAF Fairfield base, where U.S. strategic bombers are stationed (presumably, the Iranian intention was to destroy B1 bombers).

Behind the scenes, the British intelligence service, MI-6, pressured the Labour government to resolve the crisis with Israel in order to avoid damaging the intelligence that Mossad shares with Britain.
