**Californians have found themselves in _I Am Legend_.**

In the 2007 film, on the eve of the apocalypse, gas cost $6.63 a gallon. The price seemed so absurd that it made it into the final act of a movie about the end of the world.

Now California gas stations are seeing even higher prices—up to $6.87. They’ve outdone the post-apocalypse without a pandemic or zombies.

Statewide, the average price of gas has topped $6, and diesel has topped $8. Perhaps, it is time to find Will Smith so he can save everyone.
