Hiring | Network Engineer Commercial Islamic Bank of Iraq Location: Iraq – Baghdad – Al-Saadoun St. As part of strengthening the IT Infrastructure and Network Operations function, I’m looking to hire a Network Engineer to support the design, administration, monitoring, security, and continuous improvement of the Bank’s network infrastructure. Key responsibilities include: Managing and maintaining the Bank’s LAN, WAN, WLAN, and network infrastructure Configuring and administering Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure Monitoring network performance, availability, capacity, and security Troubleshooting network connectivity, routing, switching, and performance issues Managing VLANs, IP addressing, routing protocols, DHCP, DNS, NAT, and VPN technologies Supporting network segmentation and security controls within the banking environment Monitoring network devices and services using tools such as PRTG, SolarWinds, or equivalent platforms Supporting the implementation and maintenance of network redundancy, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions Performing network configuration, upgrades, backups, and change management Investigating network incidents and providing root-cause analysis and corrective actions Coordinating with telecom providers, technology vendors, and external service providers Following up with vendors regarding network incidents, maintenance, upgrades, and technical support Maintaining accurate network documentation, diagrams, configurations, and technical procedures Supporting IT security, audit, compliance, and risk-management requirements Participating in infrastructure projects, including data center, banking system, cybersecurity, and digital transformation projects Ensuring network changes are properly tested, documented, approved, and implemented Providing technical support to other IT teams when network expertise is required Required profile: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field 3+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering or network administration Strong practical experience with Cisco networking technologies Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN, and network troubleshooting Experience with firewalls and network security technologies Experience with network monitoring and performance-management tools Familiarity with Cisco IOS / IOS-XE and enterprise network environments Experience with network redundancy and high-availability technologies Experience working with ISPs, telecom providers, and technology vendors Banking or other regulated/mission-critical environments is highly preferred CCNA certification is preferred; CCNP is an advantage Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Ability to work under pressure and respond to critical infrastructure incidents Strong documentation, communication, and vendor-management skills Strong ownership mindset and attention to detail What we offer Salary: 625,000 – 1,000,000 IQD, depending on experience and technical qualifications.
