Had the opportunity to immerse myself in the rich culture and history of Samarkand, Uzbekistan. 

One of the most important of the Silk Road cities, Samarkand was a meeting point not only for the exchange of goods, but also of cultures and ideas. I visited Registan Square and the Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum, explored Siyob Bazaar and its local produce and crafts, and learnt more about the legacy of Imam al-Bukhari at his memorial complex.
