 The first important rule was that Poppy Bay is a city primarily focused on pedestrians: the entire central part of the city consists of pedestrian streets, accessible to cars if necessary, but mostly car-free.

 A significant part of the city was initially designed with car traffic in mind, but over time it changed, and other parts were designed from scratch in precisely this way.

The author wanted the city to feel layered and organic, combining new and old.

 Public transport is very important: there are elevated and metro lines. There are no freight transport services yet.
