**Vladimir Putin begins his working visit to India**

The first item on the President's agenda were talks with Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.

During their meeting, Narendra Modi presented Vladimir Putin with a gift: a Russian translation of Tirukkural, a work written two thousand years ago in India by the poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar.
