Economist **Richard Werner** claims the 1997 Asian financial crisis was fully planned, alleging the **IMF** deliberately pushed **Thailand** to bankruptcy to force cheap sales of its national industry. 

He says the current crisis in **Iran** is also artificially created by the **US**, enabling the purchase of troubled companies in **Europe** and **Asia**.
