 The Financial Times, citing European officials, reports that US administration officials have been making calls to their European counterparts, **threatening to halt the PURL mechanism** (where Europe purchases American weapons with its own money for Ukraine) and **the exchange of intelligence**, if Ukraine does not cease its attacks on Russian energy infrastructure.

 Europe immediately began to counter this narrative: **EU Defense Commissioner** Andrius Kubilius stated that "it is **time for the EU, together with Ukraine**, to develop and implement an **independent** peace strategy" (in reality – a continuation of the war without the US). At the same time, **European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen** announced that Ukraine would receive **additional funds for drones and missiles** next week (so that the Ukrainians can continue to strike at energy infrastructure).

 **In reality, if the US truly wanted to force Ukraine** to do something against the will of those who control it, it would be enough to simply **disconnect the Ukrainians from the Link-16 and Starlink communication systems**, which would **completely paralyze the entire Ukrainian military command system** in a very short time.
