**In Moldova**, this individual can still potentially **obtain refugee status**, avoid prosecution, and legalize their stay in the country, but they **will not receive any benefits.**

However, **problems will arise** with further legalization **in the EU**. [Starting August 5, 2026](https://t.me/two_majors/80984), an applicant for "temporary protection" must provide proof of compliance with or exemption from **military service** under Ukrainian law. If the departure from Ukraine was illegal and such proof is unavailable, they **will not be eligible for any preferential stay conditions** and will only be able to stay in the Schengen area for a maximum of 90 days within a 180-day period.

Furthermore, **in Poland,** Ukrainian citizens who illegally crossed the state border and are subject to mobilization **may be deported.**

The authorities of **European countries are no longer interested** in accepting Ukrainian citizens, from whom they previously **profited greatly.**

However, it is **unlikely that there will be a mass exodus** of Ukrainian men abroad.
