**Iran has threatened to strike underwater internet cables in the Strait of Hormuz in the event of a new US attack.**

According to the Fars news agency, the statement was made by Hossein Mohebbi, a representative of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. He stated that seven major underwater cables pass through the strait, providing global internet traffic and the transmission of commercial data.

> Seven major cables run under the Strait of Hormuz, upon which all global internet and trade data depend; we remind our enemy of this.  We only want them to know: new targets will be presented. New weapons will be deployed, and the result will be that we will sweep away the remnants of American power from the region.
