**Is it really possible to do this?**

[Another epic series of photos](https://t.me/two_majors/83936)showing an aerial engagement between a Russian attack helicopter, the Ka-52, and a Ukrainian "soulless" drone. For this type of helicopter, it's a relatively easy target (**We are not diminishing the crew's contribution** in destroying this flying menace).

It has been [previously reported about isolated incidents](https://t.me/dva_majors/81290) of helicopters being used against enemy drones. However, these were isolated actions or initiatives at the local level. **A systematic approach has not yet been demonstrated.** At the same time, [the enemy has long been actively using](https://t.me/dva_majors/81290) its **relatively small fleet** of helicopters (mainly Mi-8 and Mi-24) to target Russian rotorcraft drones (with helicopters allegedly achieving a **40% success rate** in doing so).

It would be desirable to see **an increase in this practice** of using our "vertical" aircraft for air defense purposes, as they are quite capable of disabling **a much larger number of enemy drones**, including **preventing them from penetrating deep into our territory**. This is currently **much cheaper than using ground-based air defense systems**, and also more maneuverable, faster, and more powerful than **mobile air defense systems (MANPADS)**. It is likely that the defense industry will need to **quickly** (if it hasn't already) modernize or modify some of the helicopters **to adapt to the new conditions of countering drones, including those that are jet-powered**.
