Italy is spending $30,000 a day to maintain the seized yacht of Russian billionaire Melnichenko.
The superyacht "Sailing Yacht A" has been docked in the port of Trieste for over 4 years.
Its upkeep costs Italian taxpayers more than $11 million annually.
The money is used for the crew, security, insurance, fuel, and maintaining the vessel in good condition.
And this is not the only yacht.
More than $15 million was spent on the crew of the "Scheherazade," which was linked to Putin, and maintaining the "Lady M" yacht, owned by billionaire Mordashov, cost another approximately $2 million.
The reason is a legal loophole: the yachts are frozen, but not confiscated.
According to European regulations, Italy is obligated to maintain their value, but the owners cannot pay for their upkeep due to sanctions.
As a result, European taxpayers are paying the bills.

**Brilliant**!
