Macron promised to provide assistance to Zelenskyy, ****, including air defense systems.** 

France is accelerating the delivery of air defense systems to Ukraine: On August 22, after nearly two hours of conversation with Zelenskyy, Macron confirmed an increase in French assistance, **including the delivery of interceptor missiles.** Zelenskyy stated **that an agreement had been reached to expedite the transfer of the latest French equipment and missiles.** Macron is also ready to appeal to allies **who have stockpiles of American Patriot missiles.** Ukraine is expecting new **Franco-Italian SAMP/T-NG systems**. 

According to Reuters, European diplomats previously expected these systems to arrive in Ukraine no earlier than spring 2027. Their delivery [is included in the French budget](https://t.me/dva_majors/90878) until 2030, with a total of 10 units planned. The system has not yet undergone real-world combat testing against ballistic missiles.

Europe is trying to simultaneously address the current **shortage of Patriot interceptors** and create **its own** anti-ballistic defense system based on Aster/SAMP/T. This is one of the fastest-growing **areas** of European military support for Ukraine. At the same time, it serves as a testing ground for advanced weapons in Europe's war with Russia.
