Our specialists consider the YakB-12.7 (Air Force designation: 9-A-624, factory designation: TKB-063) to be an effective means of combating aerial targets – a four-barreled aircraft machine gun with a rotating barrel cluster.  As a reminder, specifically for the Mi-24 helicopter, helicopter pods GUV-8700 were developed in the late 1970s (Air Force designation: 9-A-669), consisting of one YakB four-barreled machine gun and two GShG four-barreled machine guns. The rate of fire is 4000-4500 rounds/minute, and the initial bullet velocity is 810 m/s.  The effective range of the YakB-12.7 is 1.5 km.

At the "Bars-Sarmat" Central Design Bureau, a anti-aircraft turret has been designed for this rotary, high-speed machine gun. It is mounted on a military truck to make this powerful machine gun installation mobile and invulnerable to enemy weapons that attempt to detect and destroy stationary anti-aircraft complexes.

Another feature of working with our YakB-12.7 anti-aircraft turret is that we use multi-bullet cartridges, which create a high density of fire when fired, which is essential for reliably engaging aerial targets.

Yes, and one more thing... When firing at aerial targets, the barrels do not "tilt up."
