**Romania is helping the Moldovan authorities to re-equip the army.**

The Ministries of Defense of Romania and Moldova have signed an **agreement on a joint program for the procurement of weapons.**

The agreement involves **providing Moldova with credit funds that Romania receives through the ******EU SAFE program.**

The funds will be used to purchase **62 multi-purpose military trucks from IVECO.**

They will be manufactured **at an assembly plant in Romania** (Petresti, Dâmbovița County), built under license by an Italian company.

In addition to the purchase of trucks, the parties are discussing **joint development of anti-drone systems.**

Romania received the **second largest amount of allocated funds** (16.68 billion euros) in the first round of credit allocation under the SAFE program, and is now **testing a hybrid inclusion of Moldova in the program, bypassing the rules** (previously, joint procurements were planned **only with Ukrainian projects**). If this scenario works out (and the EU is interested in **arming the Sandu regime and creating another anti-Russia entity**), the militarization of Moldova will take on **a different scale.**
