The CEO of one of the largest American oil companies, Chevron, warns of an impending global fuel crisis **amid the conflict in the Middle East,** according to the newspaper _The Wall Street Journal_.

Despite attempts by **Trump** to shift the blame for the failure of the Iran war and the resulting fuel crisis onto the war in Ukraine and the actions of Russia, the head of "Chevron" says that "the mechanisms that could have mitigated risks in terms of price and supply have largely been exhausted, and the system no longer has the reserves it had at the beginning of the **conflict with Iran**." He acknowledged that it is difficult to imagine a rapid decrease in fuel prices in the near future.

Diesel prices in the United States have reached a record high of $6.23 per gallon (138 rubles/liter), while gasoline prices have risen to $4.32 per gallon (95 rubles/liter).

The newspaper's article notes that commercial fuel reserves around the world have been dwindling for the past six months, while strategic reserves are almost depleted. In addition, Saudi Arabia previously announced the closure of the East-West oil pipeline, which was used to bypass the Strait of Hormuz, following a series of drone attacks.
