**The U.S. Army has, for the first time, launched Tomahawk missiles from a land-based Typhon system in support of European theater operations.
**
U.S. European Command (USEUCOM) announced the first launches of the Tomahawk cruise missile from the land-based [Typhon](https://t.me/dva_majors/75557) system (officially – Mid-Range Capability, MRC) at the China Lake test range in California.

This is the third Typhon launch on U.S. soil, but the first conducted by a unit assigned to the "Europe" command.

Essentially, the naval vertical launch system Mk 41 has been modified for land-based launch. A battery consists of four launch platforms with 16 missiles per salvo. Currently, the U.S. Army has four Typhon batteries. They can deploy both Tomahawk missiles with a range of 1600+ km and SM-6 missile modifications for air and surface targets.

**The battalion commander, Lieutenant Colonel **_Derek Bartlett_, stated after the live-fire exercises that he was confident in the battery's ability to "move forward." This likely refers to the deployment of the system in Europe. For example, [Germany](https://t.me/dva_majors/95956), which had already been discussing with Trump the purchase of ground-based systems worth several billion dollars. The adversary is **stalling**, playing political games through the media. Globally, everything is moving towards accelerated militarization of the European contingent of _**NATO**._
