USS Lincoln’s supply problems tied to Iranian attacks on Navy base in Bahrain - NYT

Tehran’s retaliatory strikes came 'soon after 1st day of war'

"As it went up in smoke, so did major logistics hub that Navy's relied on for decades"

 Strategic planning...
1) The US initiated a war with Iran, a country known to have a powerful missile capability.
2) Its only logistics hub for the Navy was a few dozen km's from Iran in a narrow sea that is bordered by Iran for 100's of km's
3) Apparently there was no Plan B for logistics

An old military _proverb_: "amateurs talk strategy, professionals talk logistics"
