**A Russian strike derailed Fire Point’s plans to manufacture its own missiles just as production was about to launch, according to aviation expert Valery Romanenko.**


> "Whether it was the 'Sarmat' or not—it was something similar. Just before the launch, the Russians struck the missile manufacturing plant, the solid-fuel engine factory, the backup facility slated for parallel production, and two or three key component suppliers. The program effectively shut itself down," Romanenko said.
