**Baltic States Secretly Ask EU for €500M in Drone Defense Funding**

 Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia have **secretly requested €500 million from the European Union** to strengthen their defenses against drones, Finnish newspaper _Iltalehti_ reports.
​
According to the outlet’s source, the three countries sent **Ursula von der Leyen** a letter asking for additional support amid what they describe as a growing threat from Russia.
​
 The Baltic states reportedly hope the **EU will provide the funding in 2026**.
