**BREAKING: Lithuania Moves to Lift Constitutional Ban on Nuclear Weapons**

Lithuania's parliament plans to **remove the constitutional ban on nuclear weapons this winter**, broadcaster LRT reports.

Article 137 currently states that **weapons of mass destruction and foreign military bases cannot be stationed in the country**. Parliamentary speaker **Juozas Olekas** has previously argued that the provision no longer reflects geopolitical reality.

Finland earlier lifted a similar restriction. Since **July 1**, the country has allowed nuclear weapons to be brought in and stored on its territory.
