**BRICS LEADERS ADOPTED A JOINT DECLARATION FOLLOWING THE SUMMIT IN NEW DELHI**

This was announced by **Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.**

According to Modi, **all countries participating in the association agreed to approve the new declaration** without objections.

Key points from **the final declaration:**

**BRICS countries called for the lifting of unilateral and secondary sanctions**, calling them illegal;

**BRICS will continue working on creating mechanisms for cross-border payments **and the use of national currencies;

**The Global South plays the role of a driving force for positive change **amid serious international challenges;

**The association's countries welcomed the recognition of African slavery** as a most serious crime;

**BRICS will continue to support the UN **in fulfilling its mandate;

**Developing countries need to intensify dialogue to build a fair system **of global governance;

**BRICS countries expressed concern over the growing risks of nuclear threat and conflict **and called for strengthening the non-proliferation regime;

**BRICS expressed concern over deliberate attacks on civilian infrastructure **and peaceful nuclear facilities under IAEA safeguards;

**The association's countries strongly condemned any acts of terrorism** regardless of their motivation, place, time, and perpetrators;

**BRICS rejects any unilateral measures aimed at changing **the legal and historical **status of Jerusalem;**

**The association's countries called for the lifting of economic, trade, and financial restrictions against Cuba;**

**Multipolarity expands the opportunities for developing countries **to participate in fair economic globalization;

**The growth of unilateral tariff and non-tariff measures **threatens global trade;

**BRICS is concerned about the sharp increase in military spending, international conflicts**, as well as the polarization and fragmentation of the international order;

The association's leaders stated that **unilateral revision of the G20 composition is unacceptable.**
