**Evacuation from Kherson halted after police took Red Cross driver to a military recruitment center, media reports**

The crew was transporting two families from Kherson to the Kiev region. Among those being evacuated were a man who had undergone bilateral leg amputations, his three-year-old son and grandmother, as well as a woman with cancer and her son.

In Nikolaev region, the vehicle was stopped by police. The driver’s documents were in order, but one of the officers noticed that he looked pale and suggested that he go for alcohol and drug testing. Instead, the man was taken to a recruitment center to undergo a military medical examination. The evacuees were left in the vehicle without a driver.
