**Fico stated that he will do everything to ensure Slovakia is never drawn into a military conflict because of NATO Article 5**

According to the Slovak prime minister, he fears that in Europe they are merely looking for a pretext for a major confrontation between NATO and Russia.

He also added: there is a tendency to replace the inability to solve problems such as illegal migration and high energy prices with belligerent talk of “Let’s go to war.”


> “Good Lord, who are we going to fight? Who? Can you, ladies and gentlemen, imagine that Article 5 of the NATO Treaty would be invoked?... Can you imagine being told: prepare 5,000 soldiers, 10,000 soldiers — and they will go off somewhere to fight. We don’t even know with whom, why, or for what,” Fico emphasized.
