** France, Germany and Poland to Take Leading Role in a More European NATO**

 French Foreign Minister **Jean-Noël Barrot** said France, Germany and Poland should take the lead in strengthening **Europe's role within NATO**.
​
 Barrot said the three countries need to cooperate more closely to build a **secure, sovereign and prosperous Europe**.
​
He had previously argued that a reassessment of the **US role in Europe** could create an opportunity for NATO to become a **more European organization**.
