**Greece Introduces 10+ Year Prison Terms for NGO Migrant Smugglers**

 Employees of Greek NGOs who help migrants **illegally cross the border** can now face **more than 10 years in prison** and a **€50,000 fine**, even if they provide such assistance for free.
​
Other individuals involved in similar activity can face **more than five years in prison** and fines of **€20,000**.
