** Hungary Demands EU Compensation for Abandoning Russian Energy**

Hungary has demanded that the **European Union compensate Central European countries** for the costs associated with giving up Russian oil and gas, Prime Minister **Peter Magyar** said at the Visegrad Four summit in Bratislava.

According to him, the conflicts in **Ukraine and the Middle East** have caused fuel shortages and higher energy costs, placing additional pressure on EU national budgets and businesses.

> 'As we speak, dozens of Central European companies are going bankrupt because they cannot afford electricity or gas prices. I would like to see concrete figures in the seven-year budget showing how much support and assistance countries here in Central Europe will receive,'
 Magyar said.
