She links this to her calls to end the war and believes that Zelensky is not interested in bringing it to an end;

According to Mendel, Zelensky considered holding elections and offered potential rivals the option of not running and supporting him instead. At least one of them refused;

Mendel believes that Zelensky then abandoned the idea of holding elections because he feared defeat.
